Contact Information

Your lawyer is going to gather your contact information and set up a case file. Be prepared with all your contact information. It is ideal to have this information written down on a piece of paper you can give to the attorney. The information should include:


  • Full Name
  • Current Mailing Address
  • Current Physical Address (If different from your mailing address)
  • Phone Numbers (Home, Work, Cell)
  • Email Address

Important Facts About Your Case

The most important part of your consultation is when you describe your legal situation. It is IMPERATIVE to take the time to write down the facts of your case and when each event occurred. During the consultation, it is important to be concise and to the point. Try to make sure the facts of your case is limited to a single page. This will force you to include only the relevant facts and leave out some of the less important stuff. The document should include:


  • Names and Relationship of ALL Parties Involved 
  • The Type of Dispute 
  • Dates and Details of Key Events (Who, What, When, Where, Why) 
  • The Current Status of Your Legal Situation

Gather Documents About Your Case
